Chief Minister Jagan's Meeting With Amit Shah Cancelled For The Second Time

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy's visit to Delhi was cancelled. Jagan is scheduled to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday. The appointment was also finalized. However, Jagan was informed by the Home Minister's Office that meeting with the AP Chief Minister was cancelled.

The appointment seems to have been cancelled following the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections. The campaign is gaining momentum as the nomination process ends in two states. Home ministry officials have confirmed that Amit Shah will remain busy till the end of the campaign on October 19 and will not make any personal meetings. According to reliable sources, Jagan is expected to leave for Delhi on October 14.

This is the second time that Amit and Jagan's meeting getting cancelled in the recent past. Jagan, who went to Delhi on October 5, did the home minister that day. On August 26, Jagan participated in the status of a member of the Inter-State Council Standing Committee chaired by the Union Home Minister. Vijayasaray Reddy and Jagan had a special meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah. The meeting, which lasted for nearly 40 minutes discussed state issues.

He appealed for the immediate release of funds from the Center to the state. Several pending issues in the AP partition law are also discussed. He appealed to provide funds for the Polavaram project and the new schemes recently introduced by the government. The central government has been asked to release generous funds to develop the state that has been in debt during the last government regime.
