Civic body intensifies removal of encroachments in Tirupati

Tirupati: Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) intensified removal of encroachments of footpath and on road margins in the city.

Using heavy machinery, municipal Engineering and Planning department took up the removal encroachment of foot path starting from Municipal Office Circle to Ghantasala statue Circle last night. Last week the Corporation authorities completed removal of encroachments in the busy commercial area AIR Bypass Road where many malls and big showrooms are located.

Municipal Commissioner PS Girisha said that the corporation authorities are carrying out the removal of encroachments from 11 pm in the night to till 6 am in the morning to avoid inconvenience to the people.

He warned of heavy penalties if the shops and establishments again encroach the pavements and put up ramps causing inconvenience to public and creating traffic problems. Assistant City Planner Srinivasulu and Town Planning supervisor Saradamma inspected the works.
