After the announcement of the postponement of local body elections, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan to brief him on the postponement of elections. He would also discuss the turmoil situation erupted in Guntur and Chittoor in the last week ahead of local body elections nominations. It is learnt that there is every possible chance that CM would discuss the budget session.

The state election commission has postponed the election of local bodies for six weeks due to the outbreak of coronavirus. State Election Commissioner Ramesh Kumar has announced that they had postponed the election of local bodies for six weeks due to the coronavirus. It is reported that Jagan is deeply unhappy with the decision taken by the Election Commission hence rushed to Rah Bhavan to brief the issue over to the governor.

Earlier, the Chief Minister has held a review meeting with medical authorities on the fast-spreading deadly coronavirus. After the end of the meeting, he directly went to meet the governor. The government is concerned about the release of funds from the 14th Finance Committee if the elections are postponed.
