CM pats Collector for making surprise visit to girls hostel

Kurnool: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has lauded District Collector G Veera Pandian for making a surprise visit to tribal welfare girl's hostel in Panyam on late Monday night, as part of 'Palle Nidra' programme. When the Collector arrived at the hostel main gate, it was locked.

Despite calling the watchman for several times, there was no response. On the instructions of the Collector, the lock was broken. After entering the hostel, Pandian asked students about the facilities being provided to them.

The Chief Minister in a teleconference directed the Collectors and SPs to take part in 'Palle Nidra' so that they can know the ground reality about the issues being faced by villagers. He instructed the Collectors to sort out the pending bills of mid-day meals and handover school uniform clothes to parents of students so that they can stitch with accurate measurements.

Jagan Mohan Reddy asked officials to send the photos of the condition of schools, hostels and hospitals and to repeat the same process after renovation. He informed the Collectors to construct compound walls, toilets and install fans and black boards in all government schools, besides, providing drinking water. Jagan declared of converting Telugu medium schools into English medium making Telugu subject must. Chief Minister instructed officials concerned to ensure sand supply to the needy.

A sand policy is likely to come up in September month, he stated and mentioned that house sites will be allocated to all the beneficiaries in the State on the occasion of Ugadi festival. Veera Pandian brought to the notice of the Chief Minister that Spandana programme is being conducted in various constituencies including district headquarters. Joint Collector P Ravi Subash, JC-2 Mani Mala, DRO Venkatesham and other district officials were present.
