Convert unused Rythu Bazaar as Handloom Bazaar: JC to officials

Nellore: Joint Collector Dr Vinod Kumar Vasudev said that the unused Rythu Bazar at Fathekhan Pet can be converted as Handloom Bazar for the benefit of weavers and asked the officials to initiate steps.

The Joint Collector participated in the special grievance organised for the weavers at DRDA office in city on Friday and instructed the officials of textile and handloom department to take appropriate measures.

He also directed the officials to issue identity cards to the weavers and prepare the list of eligible weavers. He also suggested to the leaders of Handloom weavers' Associations to explain their problems during the District Level Bankers Meet for getting loans. He asked the officials to obtain permission from the District Collector and Lead Bank District Manager for organising such an exclusive meeting for them.

Vinod Kumar also asked officials to contact Managing Director of the APCO for reopening the closed showroom in the district. He said that they would discuss with the officials of sericulture wing to get subsidy for silk.

DRDA Project Director V K Seena Naik, DMHO Dr K Rajyalakshmi, Executive Director of B C Corporation K Rajeswari, Deputy Executive Engineer of Housing department Ramamurthy and Assistant Director of District Industries Centre SV Suresh Kumar were present.
