Education must for children for their bright future: Collector

Kurnool: District Collector G Veera Pandiyan launched several programme at various places in the district on Thursday. He, along with Kodumuru MLA Sudhakar, launched "Naadu-Nedu",Mana Badi programme at Zilla Parishad High School in Polkal village in C Belagal mandal in the district.

Addressing on the occasion, the Collector expressed concern over poor literacy rate in C Belagal mandal which has only 37 percent literacy. ``Parents should send their children to schools for their bright future. Education is the only media to reach the top most highest in life,'' he said.

He said at the first phase of Mana Badi,Naadu Nedu programme, 1143 government schools out of 2,800, are selected wherein 9 kinds of infrastructure will be provided with a cost of Rs.125 crores. The government with a mission to provide quality education to poor students pursuing in government schools has introduced, Mana Badi, Naadu Nedu programme, he said.

Every class room in government school would be provided with fans, tube lights, toilets, furniture, compound wall, wall paintings, repairing works, black boards, safe drinking water and English labs will be provided, Pandiyan said.

Later, the Collector visited Peddapadu village in Kallur mandal and inspected the sand depot and launched the week long programme. He said that week long celebrations would be in force up to November 21. He also inspected the loading process.

The collector has also flagged off a rally from collectorate organised on World Diabetic Day . Later addressing the occasion has said that let us all strive together to control diabetic disease. The disease could be controlled if care is taken. Diabetic disease stands next to cancer which is very dangerous, he added.
