Indian Constitution paved way for development: Collector G Veera Pandiyan
Kurnool: District Collector G Veera Pandiyan said that everyone should be inspired by the Articles and Schedules scripted in the Indian Constitution and dedicate themselves for the development of the country.
On the occasion of the 70th Constitution Day on Tuesday, the Collector accompanied by other officers' paid floral tributes to Indian Constitution architect Babasaheb Dr B R Ambedkar. Later addressing a meeting, the Collector said that India progressed a lot in different sectors since 1947 till date.
"The developments are the result of the Indian Constitution so every one of us needs to get inspired by such great Constitution and dedicate ourselves for the developments of the nation," he said. Every scheme and Act being implemented in State should be in conformity with the Constitution, he pointed out. He further said no works would be taken up without the approval of the Constitution. He said India had progressed a lot after Pakistan was separated from the nation.
The Constitution has provided the right to speech and right to express one's opinion. It took around two years to prepare 23 Articles and 21 Schedules that could be used for a good cause, stated the Collector.
The Collector has instructed the DEO and SSA Project Officer to ensure that Constitution Utsavams are conducted at every school up till April 14, birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar. As part of the Utsavams, seminars, essay writing and elocution contests on the Constitution will be held at least once in a week. He also instructed the officials to organise programmes so that the common people should know about their prime responsibilities.
