Kadapa: DLSC meet pitches for more sand stock points
Kadapa: The District Level Sand Committee (DLSC) committee meeting chaired by Collector Ch Harikiran on Wednesday stressed the need of increasing sand stock points in the interest of local needs. The DLSC also decided to initiate stringent action against those who responsible for illegal mining and transportation of sand in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, DLSC president Ch Harikiran said that right now sand was available in Kadapa, Pulivendula, Rayachoti depots under online procurement. He directed the officials to ensure for increasing sand stocks in Mydukuru, Badvel, CK Dinne depots.
The DLSC president disclosed that 1,21,867 cubic meters of sand was collected against 5,34,475 cubic meters of sand is available from 13 open sand reaches in the district. He also said that under desilting, 4,26,304 cubic meters of sand was collected from across the district.
The meeting disclosed that Rs 51.29 lakh penalty was collected by registering 317 cases till March 31 in the district. Joint Collector M Gouthami, Mines DD Mohan Rao, AD Obul Reddy and others were present.
