Kakinada: Under the instructions of Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi, Disha Police Station in-charge and Traffic Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) B Ramakrishna organised a Disha Act awareness camp at Sri Ramakrishna Public School here on Thursday.

Ramakrishna advised the students to take precautionary measures while walking on the road.

A total of 200 school students took part in the camp. He said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy initiated serious steps to prevent sexual attacks on women by introducing Disha Act. He explained about the Disha App and how to use it.

He said it provides two way of calling for help, either by pressing a button on the phone or if that is not possible, by simply shaking their phone five times. It will alert the Disha Control Room who in turn will alert cops, he added.

Disha Police Station Sub-Inspector Supriya said that students were losing their precious lives by focusing on issues such as adolescence and love. Girls need to be cautious in society, especially in schools and on the road, she added.
