MCR, Fire dept staff toil to control smoke from compost yard

Rajamahendravaram: Municipal Corporation of Rajahmahendravaram Additional Commissioner NVV Satyanarayana Rao has said that the Corporation staff was putting their endeavours to control the smoke coming out from the compost yard near Roads and Buildings Department office.

According to Satyanarayana Rao, fire broke out in the compost yard on last Sunday due to generation of biogas owing to the high temperature. The Corporation Staff, along with fire services department, immediately started taking steps to put out the flames, he added.

However, the smoke was coming out which was also controlled shortly. As many as 30 sanitary staff were working since the last Sunday and the Corporation was using three JCBs and four tippers in this regard. He said the people residing near to the compost yard need not worry as the smoke controlled shortly.
