Relief measures in full swing: Collector
Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has informed Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that relief measures were underway in the flood-affected areas.
Participating in a videoconference of the Chief Minister on Wednesday, the Collector said that the administration has been extending special assistance of Rs 5,000 to the affected families. Similarly, families facing inundation of their habitations were being supplied with 10 kg of rice.
With regard to Prime Minister's Kisan Scheme, the Collector told the Chief Minister that there were 4,24,696 beneficiaries in the district. After scrutiny through various stages, the final data would be made available online. The final list would be prepared at the earliest, he added.
On the sand stocks, the Collector informed that flood entered sand reaches. As soon as water recedes, the sand would be shifted to stock points, he said. He said municipal, medical and panchayat raj department officials have been instructed to take appropriate measures to contain seasonal diseases.
Earlier, the CM asked the Collectors to create special cells in the Collectorates for ex-servicemen and physically challenged persons and ensure their representation there.
He ordered the Collectors to identify eligible farmers for distribution of financial assistance under YSR Rythu Bharosa from October 15. He also insisted on preparation of tenant farmers list.Joint Collector M Venugopala Reddy and other officials were present.
