Sai Baba birth anniversary to be celebrated from tomorrow in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: The 94th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba will be celebrated in a grand manner for five days from November 19 at Sri Sathya Sai Prema Sadan Mandir at MVP Colony in the city.
Releasing the poster of programme at a media conference here on Sunday, Sri Sathya Sai Seva organisation district president V R Nageswara Rao said over 150 countries will celebrate the birth anniversary Sai Baba across the world.
In Visakhapatnam district, Nageswara Rao said, 26 samitis and 145 bhajana mandalis have been rendering yeoman service towards education, service and spiritual wings. Lalitha Sahasra namam, distribution of clothes to the needy, chanting of slokas were scheduled on November 19 from 10 am at the mandir, he said and added free medical services at Sri Sathya Sai Super Specialty Hospital, 'nama keertana, among others will be held on November 20.
He said mass chanting of Hanuman Chalisa by the youth, devotional programmes, bhajans, cultural programmes form a part of the events on November 21 and 22. On November 23, the birth anniversary celebrations begin at 4:40 am with devotional songs followed by 'Rudrabhishekam.' A host of service-oriented events, chanting of Vedas and spiritual discourse by Thotapalli Nagaraju from Anantapur form a part of the day's events.
The district's Sri Sathya Sai Seva organisation has been extending support to 18 government schools in improving the infrastructure of the schools, organising medical camps and providing free treatment to students and distributing free uniforms and facilitating digital classrooms.
Dwaram Swamy, state media coordinator of seva organisation, convener of City Seva Samiti P R S N Naidu, among others took part in the conference.
