Shops throwing garbage on roads to be fined

Vijayawada: Municipal Commissioner M Rama Rao ordered the concerned officers to collect penalty of Rs 1000 from the shop owners and Rs 500 from the pushcart vendors for thronging the garbage onto roads.

He inspected Kothapet Maternity Hospital and interacted with the staff and doctors on Tuesday. He also interacted with the patients and enquired them regarding the facilities in the hospital. The commissioner ordered the hospital staff to provide proper medicare all the time.

He found a poor woman without proper shelter at Saibaba Temple on the way to hospital. The Commissioner gathered her Aadhaar and other details and ordered the officials to sanction a flat in housing complex for her by giving priority.

He inspected Appalaswamy Street, Ragava Reddy Street and Kadhar Street in 35th and 37th sanitary divisions in One Town.

Health officer Dr N Raju and other staff accompanied him.
