SP asks policemen to implement technology in criminal investigation

Ongole: A two-day seminar and workshop on 'Smart Policing: Online Investigation Tools' was held on Saturday and Sunday for the Prakasam police as part of the 'Capacity Building for a Better Future' training sessions under the supervision of the Superintend of Police Siddharth Kaushal.

Senior investigation officers (SIs, CIs and DSPs) and selected junior investigation officers (ASIs and head constables) from all police subdivisions in the district participated in the seminar-cum-workshop.

The SP explained that the aim of the seminar was to equip the investigation officers with knowledge on the impact of technology on the investigation and teach them how to use technology to a full extent in criminal investigation.

He explained the process of retrieving the data maintained by the parts of the criminal justice system, the police, courts and jails through the web access and apps downloaded onto mobile phones.

He explained with the help of a PowerPoint presentation on how to get more information by using enterprise search, e-prison search, court checker, criminal intelligence system, third eye search, e-challan search, Google timeline, Spandana and Smart Pulse Survey. He directed every officer to have hands-on experience in using the tools available.

The SP announced that similar training-cum-workshops would be conducted in future also to enrich the personnel with hands-on experience on the latest tools and technology in smart policing.

The DSPs K V V N V Prasad, K Prakash Rao, B Ravichandra, Y Jayarama Subbareddy, G Nageswara Reddy, K Venugopal, SB II CI N Srikanth Babu and others also participated in the programme.
