Uttarakhand experts deployed for rescue operation in Godavari river
Amaravati: Uttarakhand specialists deployed for rescue operation in Godavari boat tragedy at Kachhulur near Devipatnam in East Godavari district.
Kanna Babu, Commissioner, Disaster Management, informed that a special team came from Uttarakhand for the rescue operation. They left from Gannavaram Airport to Rajahmundry airport and will reach the spot in a short time.
The special team equipped with the latest technological devices to find the location of the drowned persons in the river and to trace the missing vessels. The team will use side-scan sonar, and other latest equipment.
At least 2 NDRF and 3 SDRF, 6 Fire Fighters, 2 Navy teams along with experts of deep-dive have been continuing the rescue operations at the Kachhulur boat capsized incident on Godavari river. This is located near Devipatnam in East Godavari district and the accident took place on Sunday. The officials of Disaster Management informed that they have information on 9 confirmed death toll and yet to trace 24 missing persons in this tragedy. 27 persons rescued in this incident so far.
Kanna Babu informed that 2 Navy and 1 ONGC helicopters also pressed for the rescue operations and to trace the drowned passengers.
