Vijayawada: Institute award on Ghantasala's name, Lakshmi Parvathi urges State govt

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Telugu Academy chairperson Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi heaped praise on legendary singer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao for his melodious rendering of songs.

She participated as chief guest at the birth anniversary of Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao organised by Ghantasala Kala Vedika at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram here on Saturday night.

She said that she would talk to the officials concerned of the State government for instituting an award on Ghantasala's name in the days to come.

Central MLA Malladi Vishnu said that the people of Krishna district should feel proud as the famous singer Ghantasala hails from this district and there are lakhs of singers trained by him across the country, he added.
