Visakhapatnam: Collector Vinay Chand calls for speeding up of road laying works

Visakhapatnam: District Collector V Vinay Chand has directed the engineering officials to expedite road laying works in the Agency and rural areas of the district.

Speaking at a review meeting held here on Saturday, the Collector said of the 205 roads sanctioned, 70 were completed and work was in progress regarding 106 other roads.

Linking development of the Agency and rural areas with road connectivity, he advised the officials to focus on the road-laying works. As the Agency would experience rains from May, all the works related to laying of roads should be completed by that time, said the Collector.

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was keen on providing all facilities in the Agency areas and officials should ensure completion of works in time, said the Collector. Works could not be taken up in some areas due to delay in getting forest clearance, the Collector sought report from the officials on such cases.
