Provide long term healthcare plan for vizag gas leak victims: CPI J V Satyanarayana Murthy

Visakhapatnam: Demanding the closure of LG Polymers and strict action against the plant's management, members of the Opposition parties' urged the government to provide long term healthcare plan for those people affected with styrene monomer vapour near the plant.

Speaking at the Opposition parties' meet held here on Sunday, the leaders demanded strong action against the management of company with immediate effect. "It is not appropriate to book cases against those staging a protest in support of the gas leak victims," said J V Satyanarayana Murthy, CPI state assistant secretary.

He further said, providing compensation to the victims alone will not resolve all their issues. TDP state secretary Md Nazir, Congress party leader S Sudhakar and CPI city secretary M Pydiraju and others participated.
