TRS watered lotus to bloom
K Chandrashekar Rao and his party failed to read the writing on the wall. The party was overconfident of winning the GHMC elections. It had 99 members in the outgoing council. The party failed to take any lessons from its debacle in the bye-election held recently in which the BJP won. In all, it is a great loss for the TRS. On the other hand, the election results have given the BJP an upper hand. It had won 48 seats coming next to the TRS which won 55 seats, 44 short of its strength in the outgoing council. Staking claims for the Mayor post have now become a bargain which otherwise would have been a cakewalk. The corrupt administration is a major cause for concern. The less said about the dynastic politics, the better. Appeasement of the minorities and neglecting the majority is another factor for its debacle. They failed the TRS. 2023 is not far away. If the TRS does not mend its ways of functioning, it would have to face the same fate in the 2023 general elections too. On the whole, the TRS is solely responsible for the bloom of lotus in Hyderabad.
