Designer Gaurang Shah teamed up with Lakme Salon to present 46 unique combinations of sarees and outfits to make black and white handlooms a memorable alternative, in summer 2020.

The ensembles, with spicy hair looking models walked on the ramp draped in 24 sarees and 22 outfits in two rows one sporting ivory white ensembles and the other complementing it with blacks.

The B&W had a dash of deep red, beige, pomegranate pinks and blues on motifs and borders.

Titled as 'Garam Masala', the collections were presented with models walking in spicy hair looks and distinctive designs who set the ramp on fire.

Adding glitter to the show was Lakme Salon's new rich hair collection – inspired by popular Indian spices. From spicy nutmeg and rich kokum to golden mustard, fiery saffron, and warm cinnamon- a treasure-trove of flavour and colour in traditional Indian kitchen.

Commenting on the 'Garam Masala' inspiration, Gaurang says, "It is a whole new experiment, a merger of black and white with colours, I am excited to present my collection with Lakmé Salon, this season. It offered me an opportunity to showcase the traditional styles of India, combining the antiquity with a contemporary outlook.

The monochromatic theme of my collection symbolizes our daily mundane lives where an experience out of the ordinary adds flavour to our lives and makes it interesting; just as garam masala would do to our food."
