4-year-old grabs eyeballs

The youngest 21k marathon runner, Budhaditya Swain, a LKG student grabbed the attention of the crowd at the half marathon held at Sanjeevaiah Park on Sunday.

The four-and-a-half-year--old child ran to his heart's content even as passersby were astonished. Budhaditya is from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, who aims to become a police inspector. This was his first 21k marathon race. He completed the race in around 2 hours 30 minutes.

Speaking to the Hans India, Debadutta Swain, father of Budhaditya, said, "He began running for the past one year and has participated in several half marathons and other races. His longest distance race till date was 65 km.

His hobbies from his childhood were different from other children of his age. His love for the sports made me realise that he should be trained in this. "From his childhood I have been training him in different sports like judo, rope climbing and running," he added.
