Act against illegal layout developer

Nagaram: A resident of S V Nagar in Nagaram gram panchayat has represented to the GHMC chief city planner regarding an illegal layout in survey no.214/1, 214/2 and 214/3 in Sri Chakripuram spread over on a land of eight acres.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, Kamirelli Sudhakar Reddy said on the eastern side of the layout, a road has been extended after demolishing a wall. He sought to know who should take the responsibility for developing the road – whether it should be done by the layout developer or GHMC officials.

He called for shifting of the streetlights on the road to one side so that no inconvenience was caused to the local residents. Reddy accused the layout developer of cheating the people by distributing colourful brochures on the gated community venture.

He said the GHMC official merely clarified that the layout was not a gated community, thus washing their hands off. The representation alleged that the developer was trying to connect the drainage to the adjacent colony and that the residents there were opposing/stalling it since their drainage pipe diameter was small.
