GHMC chief urged to focus on Chandrayangutta people's woes

Chandrayangutta: Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi and Nampally MLA Jaffar Hussain Meraj called on GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar at GHMC head office on Wednesday. During meeting, they discussed about the developmental works in Chandrayangutta constituency. Akbaruddin brought to the notice of the Commissioner and urged him to ensure that all the pending works were taken up and corporation speeds up their progress, as they were going on a slow pace.

Speaking to The Hans India, Uppuguda division corporator, Fahad Bin Abdat, who was part of the delegation, said that the MLA discussed about the extension works of Chandrayangutta flyover, which was sanctioned around 6 months ago with an estimation of Rs 38 crore.

He said that the issue of flyover extension was pushed by the MLA for easing the traffic flow. More than 500 meters of extension was proposed and the works began a month back, but the works remained in slow pace. He requested the GHMC Commissioner to speed up the works and complete them as early as possible.

Another major project discussed was of renovation and widening of Falaknuma RuB, which was also sanctioned 6 months back with an estimation of Rs 48 crore, but works are yet to be started. Akbaruddin also brought to notice that the major road widening in constituency in Hafiz Baba Nagar C-block hit obstacles, as GHMC had issued cheques to only 60 per cent of the land owners as part of land acquisition, while others were yet to receive. He requested Commissioner to handover the remaining cheques and initiate the project. Similarly, the road widening works of Bandlaguda to Errakunta at Nafees Function Hall. The 80 feet proposed road was struck by delay in completion of land acquisition process.

He also discussed about the various developmental works like nala widening in Uppuguda division and other maintenance works in the constituency. A total of Rs 10 crore were sanctioned for constituency, under this head.

Later, Lokesh Kumar gave assurance that works would be started and shall be completed at the earliest. Corporators Abdul Wahab (Chandrayangutta), Mohammed Abdul Rahman (Jangamet), senior leader Samad bin Abdat and other party leaders were part of the delegation.
