All Saints Boys School holds alumni meet

Abids: More than 300 former students along with their family members were present at the annual get-together of the All Saints' Old Boys Association (ASOBA) located in Gunfoundry.

According to a release, they celebrated the get-together function on August 30 on the school premises. Mir Zulfeqar Ali, former Mayor of Hyderabad, welcomed the members and the dignitaries on this occasion.

Er Md Ayub Mujahid, Secretary, highlighted the activities of the association and its importance. Syed Abid Husain, chairman, event management committee, took care of all the arrangements for the function.

The highlight of the function was the felicitation of the past students, who have passed out from the school about 60 to 50 years ago. Dr Mohan Kanda, former Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh, was felicitated, for passing out of the school 60 years ago, by the Rector of the School, Rev. Bro. P T Sebastian, and the President of ASOBA, Mir Zulfeqar Ali, former Mayor of Hyderabad.

Dr Kanda was presented with a memento specially made for the occasion. Also, more than 50 alumnus, who passed out from the school 50 years ago, were also felicitated by by Feroz Khan, Bollywood actor and playback singer who was the special guest at the function, Zulfeqar Ali and Rev Bro Balainna, the vice-principal of the school. Dr A Deshpande, the vice-president of the alumni association, proposed a big vote of thanks.

"It was the most memorable moment for the alumni, as some visited the school after a gap of 50 years. The past students met their old classmates and schoolmates and exchanged their school days' memories," said those who attended.
