Enthralling rendition by Egyptian Qaris

Hyderabad: The Qaris, who recite Quran as per the rules of recitation, from Egypt mesmerised the city folk at the annual Quran recitation program, Qirat, held at Media Plus auditorium in Gunfoundry.

The Qaris, Sheikh Omar Mohammed Abdel Razek, Mohammed Sheikh Abdallah Rageb Ebrahim Abouhalika and Sheikh Ahmed Mahmoud Quda Uthman enthralled the gathering with their unique vocal rendition of the Holy Quran at the event. The annual Quran recitation program, started in 1990, involves participation of Qaris from Jamia Azhar, the famous Islamic university in Egypt.

Govt proud of Indian Muslims

Later, Hyderabadi Sufi Scholar Maulana Peer Shabbir Naqshbandi, who organised the programme, recalled his meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, in the presence of Egyptian Qaris in Delhi last week.

Maulana recalled the words of Ajit Doval, "The current government is proud of the Muslim population in the country. It appreciates the Muslim community of the country." He said that their conversation lasted for nearly half-an-hour and that the meeting was originally planned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who sent Ajit Doval to convey his remarks.

Speaking on the occasion, Maulana said the Quran is for all, and is aimed at spreading the message of humanity. Mukarram Khan, managing director of F D Khan and Company felicitated the guest Qaris on the occasion.
