Kompally: Bumpy roads, traffic chaos and potholes are causing inconvenience to the commuters at Kompally division for the use service roads on a daily basis. The service road is a stretch of 10 km, starting from Kompally to Suchitra Circle.

The single narrow road is used for to-and-fro traffic. The condition of the road has been the same from the past five to six years. There were no steps taken by officials to repair the roads.

The rains have totally damaged the roads in recent times. Potholes and sharp edge cuts on the roads are leading the two wheelers and bi-cyclers to skid and fall. P Vamshi, a student, says "The road is horrible, and we have been facing the issue since six years.

I was injured twice on the road with a hairline fracture. No official responds to the problem." Even after several complaints, there has been no action taken by the authorities. Colleges, schools and houses are located on the service road.

"Severe accidents took place due to the heavy dust on the road and it is causing inconvenience in visibility. In many cases, opposite vehicles are not clearly visible due to lack of streetlights on the road," says Nischay, a hotel owner, in the area. He added, "The condition of the road is worst from five to six years and they are ignored by NHAI."

"Contractors of GMR group and authorities have surveyed the road several times, but there is no progress in work," says Sheik Riyaz, a resident. The works of Mission Bhagiratha has damaged the road.

After the pipelines were laid, the road was left without filling the cavities. There was no prior information to NHAI authorities regarding the works of Mission Bhagiratha. The road will be repaired by January, says Tarun Kumar, project director at NHAI.
