Uneven, bumpy roads put motorists at risk

Neredmet: The road from Neredmet to ECIL is one of the busies roads of the area and yet remains one of the poorly maintained ones in the city. The surface is pitted and uneven, posing a danger to motorcyclists. Due to poor illumination on this stretch at nights, motorcyclist can be seen applying brakes suddenly, at these troublesome spots.

The road witnesses a huge flow of traffic towards Ecil X Road and other routes. "Even after repeated complaints, no one cared to look out for a solution," says Rohit Kulkarni, a motorist and resident of ECIL. The stretch particularly near Radhika Theatre poses a big trouble to commuters. "This road should be repaired before summer ends, because as monsoon starts to approach, it will be a difficult task to repair the roads," he adds

People are applying sudden brakes only when they are close pits and potholes, which could endanger their safety. The civic authorities need to put fresh layer on the BT road. A number of minor accidents are said to be occurring on the road. Two-wheeler riders are the worst hit, people say. "We have made repeated representations to the officials in the corporation to take up at least patch works, but our pleas fell on deaf ears," complained a resident.
