Cyclone Nivar: Rains lash out parts of Hyderabad

Cyclone Nivar in Hyderabad: Parts of Telangana including Hyderabad have witnessed light to moderate rainfall on Thursday morning as the Cyclone Nivar made landfall on Puducherry. With the cyclone reaching the coastal line, heavy rains are being witnessed in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the cyclone is said to intensify further which may lead to the rainfall today and tomorrow. On Thursday, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Nalgonda districts witnessed heavy rainfall.

The impact of the cyclone is more on the southern districts of Telangana. An orange alert has been issued to the districts like Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri Bhongir and Khammam. These districts are estimated to receive very heavy rainfall.

District collectors have also been advised to keep a close watch on the rains. The collectors of Yadadri and Nalgonda had already asked the farmers to take all measures concerning their harvest ready for procurement. The farmers were also asked not to bring cotton, paddy to the procurement centres today and tomorrow.
