Dangling wires, cables a grave threat here

Yapral: Electric wires are dangling in bunches from electric poles and also lying on roads near residential area in Yapral posing a severe threat to the residents, pedestrians and commuters. Also, cables including internet wires are causing trouble on the roadside.

"The drooping cables and wires are strung upon every electricity pole. The Electricity Department and GHMC should maintain these wires of the colony." says Lokesh, resident, while speaking to The Hans India here on Monday.

He said that the wires also pose great danger to pedestrians as well as vehicle riders. Locals said the monsoon season was just few months away and there was more danger as it can be a cause of electric shock. Due to the dangling of wires in the street, it is making the surroundings look ugly.

Lokesh said that there hasn't been any response from the Electricity Department, and the situation was getting bad with each passing day. It looked dreadful in during rains, said a commuter. These wires pose a serious threat to people as the high-tension electric lines are passing through several residential areas in the city, he lamented.
