Dangling wires pose threat to motorists

Masjidbanda: Cable wires hanging above the middle of the road are posing threat to pedestrians and commuters alike at Masjidbanda, Cyber Meadows. It is learnt that a private cable company after completition of their work left the wires behind, which are now dangling dangerously. At along many stretches and at intersections, similar is the story.

Serious concerns are being expressed over the motorists getting stuck in the wires. Last week, an IT employee who took a stroll along the Masjidbanda had miraculous escape in the small hours. Abhishek, he IT employee, said, “It is Shameful. Met with an accident, injured my neck and almost got killed by the wires hanging in the middle of the road.” People do not get much time as they notice the wires in the nick of time.

Also, there are no street lights in the area. Many road users had a full fall in the middle of the road and also the school going students are meeting with a similar trap. The veritable death traps continue to pose a threat to commuters and general public in the twin cities, as there seems to be no solution in sight to the `danger' in the near future.

Most of the wires dangling belong to private cable net provider. It is their duty not to leave behind the wires so recklessly in utter neglect of public safety, criticises Ranjit, a regular user of the stretch. Zonal Commissioner Hari Chandana Dasari said, “If people give us proper location of such problem, we will attend to them immediately.” But, the commuters say they did lodge complaints about the issue, but in vain.
