Deputy Speaker launches storm drain works

Tarnaka: Deputy Speaker of Telangana State Assembly T Padma Rao Goud launched storm drain works taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore at Tarnaka on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Padma Rao Goud said that several preventive measures taken by the State government has enabled the authorities to address many issues. He instructed the officials to ensure that people do not face any inconvenience during this monsoon season.

He urged them to find a permanent solution to prevent inundation of low-lying areas. Lauding the proactive measures of the State government, he said no other government has undertaken so many developmental works in the Secunderabad constituency in the last 50 years like the TRS government.

Later, Padma Rao Goud, accompanied by local corporator Saraswathi and government officials, undertook padayatra and inspected the colonies near Suraksha Hotel, Tarnaka. During his padayatra, he observed water logging in a vacant area near Suraksha Hospital and instructed officials to take necessary measures to address the issue.

GHMC Deputy Commissioner Ravi Kumar, Jalamandali GM Rajashekhar, GHMC EE Pramod Kumar and other officials accompanied the Deputy Speaker during his visit.
