GHMC election 2020: 25.34 per cent of polling recorded till 3 pm
The election for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has witnessed a poor voter turnout of 25.34 per cent till 3 pm on Tuesday.
Until 2 pm, 24.52 polling percentage is recorded. Gudimalkapur division has recorded the highest polling percentage of 49.19 while Rein Bazar recorded least with 0.56 per cent. The polling percentage is said to be high in basti's and lowest in the colonies.
Until 1 pm, the polling percentage reached 29.03 in Vanasthalipuram followed by 30.08 per cent in Hastinapuram, 24.93 per cent in Nagole, 22.39 percent in Mansoorabad, 24.93 per cent in Hayatnagar and 24.54 per cent in BN Reddy Nagar.
Colonies like Kondapur, Banjara Hills, Madhapur, Jubilee Hills, Kukatpally, Chandanagar and Alwyn Colony which are occupied by the IT employees also witnessed poor voter turn out.
In 2016, the GHMC elections witnessed the voter turnout of 45.25 per cent and the same is expected this year.
