Drains always overflow; internal roads quite bad at Ramgopalpet Division

Ramgopalpet (ward-148) which is famous for Ujjaini Mahankali temple has a total number of 35,830 voters. Being a marketplace, the area is busy with the pedestrians and vehicles.

In 2016, the BC (women) reserved ward witnessed less than 50% polling, as the total number of voters then was 35,757 and only 18,593 voters turned out to exercise their franchise. A Aruna (TRS) won against the nearest rival Priyanka Varma (BJP).

The residents of the area urge that the internal roads are full of potholes and are always filled with drain water. The major issues of the Ramgopalpet division include lack of mechanism to clear garbage regularly, which can be seen piled up everywhere.

"There is no proper sewage system and we can see drains overflowing here anytime. It is one of the major issues that residents of this division suffer from. The internal roads are always filled with drain water here" said G Umesh, resident of Ramgopalpet.

"With the open nala in the Kalasiguda the residents are facing lot of problems like mosquitos and bad smell due to that nala. Also the garbage is thrown here and there. We did not even receive the double bedrooms till date.

The present corporator A Aruna has failed to meet the needs of people; several proposals and promises are yet to be fulfilled" said a resident of Kailasiguda, under condition of anonymity. For the upcoming GHMC elections there is a tough competition among TRS, BPJ and Congress in this division.

V Ramana, a resident of Ramgopalpet, said "The internal roads are in worse condition and are full of potholes. It creates problems for the residents and commuters alike here. When it rains, commuters find it tough to use these inner roads. GHMC workers are now barely visible, otherwise earlier there was regular clearance of garbage."
