Soon, a park will promise a dream dayout for children and the children in adults. It will transport them into a world of one of their treasured books. The all-time favourite Jungle Book is inspiring an initiative by the GHMC to provide its young denizens and toddlers a pleasant meeting with their best-loved characters from the famous book. Beloved characters like 'mancub' Mowgli, Baloo the bear, Bhageera the panther and Sher Khan the tiger will fascinate the young visitors and grown-ups alike. They will take back a little magic of the jungle from a lush greenery being set up at the park which is coming up in Kukatpally.

Amidst aesthetic settings, children can have a gala time and also experience a beauty of jungle in the city, 15 Phase of KPHB Colony. Says V Mamatha , Zonal Commissioner, Kukatpally: "It was an open land for a long time. Huge buildings have come up over time.

We thought there should be something unique and eye-catching for locals to visit and relax, and for children to have some amusement. We have come up with a Jungle Book-based theme park. The park is especially for children where they can experience the scenario of a dense jungle and meet the characters of Jungle Book film that include Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera and many more. We have also planned that the entrance gate would be like a cave shape that would give a complete look of a jungle."

An area of 800 square meters is earmarked for the theme. The benches would be look like carved out trunks. Apart from this, the park would have several facilities such as round pathway, sitting benches, drinking water facility, LED lighting, play equipment, walking track. Of course, dustbins would be there too. A selfie spot is also being arranged to freeze the moments for ever, says Sai Prasad, an assistant engineer.

The entire park area would have a lavish, lush greenery. The authorities have decided on avenue plantation on the boundaries to add an aesthetic appeal to the entire area and also provide shade. Already, levelling works have begun and very soon actual works would start. The estimated cost of project is around Rs 21 lakh.
