Hyderabad: The VIT-AP University, Chancellor G Viswanathan has appointed SV Kota Reddy as the new Vice-Chancellor of the VIT-AP University in the presence of GV Selvam, Vice President, VIT University.

D Subhakar handed over the charge to the new incumbent at a simple function held on the campus. Addressing the gathering of the VIT-AP University faculty and staff members, he urged the faculty members to focus on innovative research and asked the staff to extend full support to achieve the quality services to students.

Kota Reddy has a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay. Before the new assignment, he was the Academic President of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai Campus backed with 30 years of research and teaching experience in India and abroad. He has been responsible for identifying and establishing student exchange programmes through collaborations with various universities across the globe.

He asked the heads of the departments of the university to take steps for the smooth delivery of services. In particular, in the conduct of classes and examinations in the prevailing situation.

Prof Jagadish Chandra Muduganti Dean Academics and CLV Sivakumar, Registrar, informed the VC about initiatives taken by the university to serve the student community better, particularly strategies followed to deliver the online classes, combating difficulties created by pandemic for physical delivery.
