International Children Day celebrations held

Nampally: City Additional Police Commissioner Shikha Goel said that the police department has been taking stringent measures to prevent atrocities against children. She was speaking at a meeting organised by Balala Hakkula Sangham on the occasion of International Children Day at Telugu University on Sunday. Balanagar DCP Padmaja also participated in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Shikha Goel expressed concern over the children's obsession with smartphones. She advised parents and teachers to take steps to wean them away from smart mobiles. Explaining various measures taken for the protection of women, she said Telangana government has specially formed SHE teams and Bharosa teams for the protection of girls. She asked women to register complaints with SHE teams if they face any harassment. She also advised parents not to pressurise their children to get good marks, but give freedom to their children to pursue their passion.

Various cultural programmes were performed by students on the occasion of International Children Day. Honorary president of Balala Hakkula Sangham Achyut Rao, president Anuradha and others were present.
