Rajendranagar: Congress kicks off campaign

Rajendranagar: Making the promise to resolve the long pending issues like scarcity of drinking water in his ward, the Congress candidate from Himayath Sagar Ward No. 12, Muddam Ramu kicked off his campaign here on Sunday with door-to-door meetings with the electors.

Himayat Nagar Ward No. 12 was carved out following the emergence of newly constituted Bandlaguda Jagir municipality. Keeping in view its historical relevance, this ward was named after Himayath Sagar as it is standing close on the banks of the water body. Himayath Sagar ward, which carries total 2,568 voters out of which 1286 are males and 1282 are female voters, is predominantly as bastion of congress. The erstwhile grampanchayat was represented by M.Anjaineyulu, who is a congress party leader and now after the merger it became a ward from here his brother Muddam Ramu is contesting the election.

The ward that stands close to Himayath Sagar is known for its crystal clear water has been reeling under shortage of drinking water for long and the same issue has surfaced during the campaign as people complain about not getting water regularly. The other issue that according to the local people were not been yet fulfilled is the distribution of 60 Sq.Yard pattas promised by the TRS government is the previous elections.

During the campaign many people in the ward complained of water scarcity as well as non distribution of pattas. However, the congress candidate M.Ramu assured them of efficacious effort for providing the same if he was elected.
