Repair damaged roads on a war footing: Mayor Bonthu Rammohan

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor, Bonthu Rammohan, on Monday instructed the officials of GHMC, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) and Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) to complete road repairs on war footing in Greater Hyderabad.

Mayor Rammohan along with the HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy, GHMC Commissioner M Dana Kishore and other officials inspected the works of restoring damaged roads at various sports in the city.

Speaking after inspecting the works of damaged roads, the Mayor said monsoon emergency teams were filling up the more than 4,000 potholes in the city and this work would be completed on Tuesday, he said.

"We will start the short-term tenders calling process to repair the damaged roads stretches in city from Wednesday and HMRL is taking up the road repairs in metro corridors in city under the budget of Rs 5 crore," the Mayor disclosed.

Commissioner Dana Kishore said that they had deployed senior officials in each zones and circles across the city to complete the damaged road repair work as soon as possible. HMRL managing director NVS Reddy said that they would release Rs 5 crore for the repair of the roads from Secunderabad station to Mahatma Gandhi bus station and in other metro routes and would give top priority to the road repair works.
