Severe stench from open nala

Neredmet: An open drain located right next to Kalibari Temple in Raghavendra Colony, Neredmet is emanating smell and it is not been cleaned says colony residents.

The canal is connected with residential kitchen pipelines. Commuters also find it difficult to bear the stink, says Rahul Reddy a resident. "They should at least cover the nala, the situation worsens during the rainy season," he adds.

During monsoons, rainwater from the drains overflows onto the road when the garbage is not cleared from the canal. The rainwater is mixed with sewage.

This drain water from different colonies flows into the RK Purm Lake, but it is choked with garbage and clogged due to illegal discharge of sewage by some residents.The sight of smelly water flowing is matter of concern for the residents.
