Nampally: The TS Wakf Board started a series of meetings to ponder over resolving long drawn pending issues, which got piled up for the past 10-months, owing to various reasons.

On Wednesday, the Board held sub-committee meetings of administration and toliyat (custodianship of the institution) and discussed elaborately on different issues. The meeting was chaired by chairman, Md Saleem, where Wakf Board CEO Abdul Hameed, Board members Syed Akbar Nizamuddin Hussaini, M Zakeer Hussain Javid, Mirza Anwar Baig, Dr Syed Nissar Hussain, Waheed Ahmed, Malik Motasim Khan and Dr Sofia Begum were present.

The Board pondered over ways to speed up the pending works by considering the idea of recruiting more staff, especially those who can guide the board for overcoming the legal tangles. "Without proper law officials the Board has failed to file counters at courts at different levels. This remains a major setback and handicap and properties were at risk. Hence it was high time that officials with proper know-how are recruited," said Saleem, while briefing to media.

The Wakf Board will be holding three other sub-committee meetings on Thursday, including finance, legal and development to take forward all the proposals, which will be later brought to table of the Board to discuss and finalise.

Responding to a question on 7-floor structure (Garden View Wakf Building) adjacent to the Haj House, Saleem said that the matter would be taken up in the upcoming Board meeting and major decision would be taken with the objective of generating revenue for the welfare of the poor from the Muslim community.
