Heavy rains lash Tirumala amid cyclone Nivar effect, devotees face troubles at temple

The impact of Nivar cyclone had fell on Tirumala resulting in continuous rains since Wednesday morning. Devotees visiting the Vaikuntham Complex for the Srivari Darshan as well as the devotees coming after the Darshan are getting drenched in rain and are in serious trouble with this. Meanwhile, all the low-lying areas were inundated due to rain and the reservoirs were filled with water. On the other hand, the staff advised motorists traveling on the Ghat Road to be vigilant as the seven hills are drenched in the incessant rain.

Meanwhile, many celebrities visited Tirumala on Wednesday morning. During the VIP visit in the morning, Rajya Sabha member GVL Narsimha Rao, BJP senior leader Sunil Deodhar and Rajya Sabha member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy visited Tirumala and offered prayers. After the darshan, the temple priests blessed and offered Tir. Later, GVL said he wished that all the people to be happy with the grace of Sri Venkateswara Swamy.

The cyclone Nivar is turning into a very severe storm. Temperatures in the ocean and the humidity in the air are getting stronger and moving towards the coast. The meteorological department said that it would hit the coast between Karaikal and Mamallapuram on Wednesday evening. Wind gusts at that time are estimated to be between 120-145 km per hour. During the cyclone, heavy rains are expected in Cuddalore, Villupuram, Kallakurichi districts and Puducherry districts of Tamil Nadu on Thursday and Friday.
