Pilgrim city Tirupati observes Bharath Bandh peacefully

Responding to national farmers' unions call for Bharath Bandh, the pilgrim city observed peaceful bandh on Tuesday.

The left party activists including the parties farmers' unions moved in batches right from morning seeking traders close their establishments and also staged a rasta roko on main roads and national highway disrupting vehicular movement for some time.

Following the government instruction, RTC services remained suspended and schools were also closed till 1in the afternoon.

Rallies and dharnas also held in several places by left activists while Congress activists led by PCC secretary D Rambhupal Reddy staged a protest at RTC bus station.

CPI state secretariat member P Haranatha Reddy said that the centre which diluted PSUs with more and more privatisation of Railways, BSNL, Insurance sector now hell-bent corporatisation of agriculture unmindful of its disastrous effects.

CPM senior leader K Kumar Reddy leading a dharna at municipal office circle affirmed that the nationwide stir would go on till the centre withdraw the farm acts.
