Warangal : Instigating sentiments and playing with people's emotions, the BJP and the MIM have managed to post victories in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, said the Minister for Panchayat Raj, Errabelli Dayakar Rao.

Speaking to media persons here, on Saturday, he blamed both BJP and MIM for stooping so low to win the elections. "It's unfortunate that both the BJP and the MIM had tried to gain political advantage by tickling sensitive issues," he said.

Even then, TRS has emerged as the single largest party in the GHMC, he said and pointed out that it indicates that the people have faith in the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao.

He also expressed confidence that TRS is sure to clinch the Mayor post without any party's support. Later, responding to a query, he said that TRS had lost quite a few seats with very little margin and the party leadership will soon analyse the reasons behind its poor performance compared to previous GHMC elections.

Referring to the ensuing Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) elections, the Minister said that the people were aware of the development taking place in the city. The BJP has nothing to claim to woo the people, Errabelli said. Later, the Minister also inaugurated road sweeping vehicles procured by the GWMC with an outlay of Rs 30 crore and She mobile toilets.
