Mechanic, auto driver held for selling child

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Special Operations Team (SOT) sleuths along with Pahadishareef police apprehended two persons Shaik Ahmed, an auto driver and Mir Fayaz Ali ,39, bike mechanic for abducting the six-month-old baby boy and selling him for Rs 10,000.

Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat along with other officials handed over the rescued child by name Sai to his parents on Wednesday. According to CP, Soni ,20, a resident of Shamshabad on May 3, lodged a complaint with Pahadishareef police stating that she along with her mother Sunitha came to Shaik Ahmed's house and stayed there. In the wee hours when they woke up they found her son Sai was missing and they were locked out from outside of the house.

They searched for the missing boy and their efforts were in vain. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under sections 363 IPC and section 81 of Juvenile Justice Act-2015 and took up investigation.

Police later apprehended the accused Shaik Ahmed in Nanded who on interrogation confessed to the crime and revealed that he abducted the boy and sold out to Mir Fayaz Ali for Rs 10,000. The police rescued the Sai from his possession and handed over to his parents.
