Adapt yoga, walking into lifestyle: Collector
Kakinada: “Healthy people are progressive indicators that represent development and everybody should be health conscious,” District Collector Kartikeya Mishra said. MLAs Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao, Pilli Anantha Lakshmi, MLC Chikkala Rama Chandra Rao started 5K Run from the Boat Club along with the collector here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the run was held to represent the integrity of the Janmabhoomi- Maa Vooru programme. He said, “One can enjoy life when one has a sound health. Everybody should take care of their health by maintaining the cleanliness of their surroundings.” Mishra urged the public to make Yoga and walking a routine in their lifestyles.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Venkateswara Rao said that Andhra Pradesh stood first in solving the problems of the people. The government officials and the people’s representatives were active participants of the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme and were quick to provide comprehensive solution to the problems of the public.
MLA Vanamadi informed that about 80 percent of the people were satisfied with the government’s response. “Fulfilling the ambitions of people is the main aim of the government,” he said.
Rural MLA Anantha Lakshmi, MLC Chikkala Rama Chandra Rao and Mayor Pavani also spoke during the inaugural of the Run.
The officials took every precaution and arranged drinking water along the path and a mobile ambulance in case of emergency due to the unusually chilly morning. The officers distributed T-shirts and caps to all the participants to propagate the spirit of Janmabhoomi.
Later, the MLAs distributed the mementoes to the first eight winners from boys and first three winners from girls. The Police, Medical and Health, Municipal, Education departments made extensive arrangements for this race. The 5K Run went through Bhanugudi Center, Main Road and concluded at the Masjid Centre.
