MLA vows to make city hut-free

Kakinada: MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao has promised people to make the city into a palm-hut free city.

Along with Mayor Pavani, the MLA distributed the proceeding orders for the housing scheme beneficiaries of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 13 divisions of the city at Recharla Peta Municipal School on Saturday evening.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that houses had been sanctioned for 5,600 families in the city. The government was depositing Rs 2.5 lakh to the beneficiaries who had completed the foundation work for the construction of the houses. 

He also informed that the government was spending Rs 146 crore for this work in the city. He stated that his aim was to develop this city into a cleaner, greener and palm-hut free as part of the smart city development.

Housing DE Satyanarayana, AE Rama Krishna, Bhaskar Rao, Corporators Amabti Kranthi, Adduri Lakshmi, Ommi Balaji, Nallabilli Sujatha and others participated.
