Fishers to get mobile vehicles to sell fish products

Eluru: West Godavari District Collector K Bhaskar, has handed over a mobile vehicle, provided by fisheries department to a woman of the fishers’ community at the Collectorate here.

The Collector directed the Fisheries Joint Director Anjali to take steps to distribute the mobile fish selling vehicles for the livelihood of fisheries. The mobile vehicle would facilitate the rider to sell the fish products anywhere to get income. The Collector said that the fisher community was now selling the products at their residences only. 

This would not give them much income. In view of this, it has decided to give the fish selling mobile vehicles to the fishermen and women in the district. During next financial year, about 1,400 mobile vehicles would be given to the women. He said a plan was chalked out to store about 300 kgs of fish products in the vehicle by setting up a freezer in it. Earlier, he rode the mobile vehicle for a while and handed over the key to the beneficiary.
