Junior doctors pedal rickshaws, drive autos
Ongole: The agitating senior residents and junior doctors in the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Ongole drove autos and rickshaws as a protest against the negligence and non-responding attitude of the government for their demands.
The JUDAs, who were on the protest for the eighth day on Friday, demanded that the government offer immediate registrations after they pass MBBS and PGs, clear the arrears of the stipend, increase the stipends as promised and pay it regularly and recruit permanent staff in the hospitals in their place.
As they were continuing the agitation for eight days and there was no positive reaction from government side, the doctors drove autos and pedalled rickshaws as protest against the government. The RIMS JUDAs president Dr Sarath Chandra and vice-president Dr Vamsi Krishna announced that if the government ignore their justifiable demands immediately, they would intensify the agitation soon.
