Rs 7.5 crore for Peddapuram GGH development: Dy CM

Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Nimmakayala China Rajappa has said that the TD Government’s prime motive is to sanction old age pensions to all the eligible poor in the state.He participated in the pension distribution programme at the Neelamma Cheruvu in Samalkot here on Sunday.

Speaking on this occasion, Rajappa said that 450 new pensions had been sanctioned to Samalkot town and whereas 548 new pensions were granted for another 18 villages in the Samalkot mandal in this phase.

He informed that after the sanction of new pensions, the total number of pensions in the town reached to 5,406 while at mandal-level they reached a total of 7,878 pensions.Rajappa also said that the government was distributing Rs 1.475 crore for these pensions in Samalkot every month.

He further told that they were developing the Peddapuram Government General Hospital into a 100-bed hospital at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore. Similarly, Samalkot Community Health Centre would be developed as a 30-bed hospital. He expressed happiness over Samalkot Municipality receiving the Swachh Sarvekshan award.

Later, Rajappa distributed pensions to the beneficiaries.ZPTC member Vijaya Lakshmi, AMC chairman Srinivasacharyulu, MPP Sathi Babu, Municipal Commissioner Venkateswara Rao, Peddapuram Municipality chairman Suribabu Raju and others participated.
