Make arrangements to beat heat: Collector to officials

Ongole: Prakasam District Collector Vadarevu Vinay Chand ordered the officials of concerned departments to make arrangements to give relief to the public from heat wave in the next few days.

The Collector inaugurated water kiosk at the Grievance Cell on Monday morning and said that the government announced that the coming four days, there would be temperatures at around 45 degree Celsius. He asked the authorities to set up free water and butter milk kiosks in all of the municipalities and panchayats.

 The special officers of mandals and Assembly constituencies were asked to be alert and see the NGREGS workers were provided with shades in the midday along with the water and buttermilk supply. He also ordered the officials to make necessary arrangements for the old aged as they come to receive pensions from Tuesday.

The DMHO, Rajyalakshmi asked the public to not come outside between 11 am and 4 pm. She asked them to wear white, loose and cotton clothes to save from the heat wave. She advised them to wear a cap or cover head with hand kerchief, take butter milk or ORS mixed water. If anyone suffers heat stroke, she asked them to shift to the local PHC immediately while mopping patient’s body with a wet cloth.
